Clip in hair extensions make an excellent inclusion to your beauty accessories and they allow much more varied hairstyles to suit any occasion. Despite their popularity, not every set of clip in hair extensions is the exact same, and with vendors keen on selling clip in hair extensions to the growing marketplace, as a buyer you've got to be aware of what you're buying.
To ensure you're getting your money's worth here's what you should look for, quality, volume and the hair "construction".
By combining these factors you can rest assured that you are buying good if not high quality clip in hair extensions that will give you the look you want and will last longer.

1. Quality

To get that natural look, its best to select hair extensions made from 100% Remy human hair weave. Most of what's in the market is a combination of real human hair and "legit looking" synthetic hair which implies limited styling options. Whereas, with 100% human hair extensions you'll be able to use various styling tools like curling irons, you can shampoo, condition & treat the hair as well as color it with ease.
Always opt for Remy hair simply because the cuticle of the hair is still intact after processing and all of the hair runs in the same direction from root to tip, you'll experience less tangling and the hair will last longer.

2. Volume

You do not want to spend money on hair with little to no volume (thin hair).  Generally, you'll want to give the illusion of fuller, healthier hair and most especially if your own hair is thinning or not thick enough. Thin hair extensions won't do much for the rest of your hair, making it look obviously fake.
The overall thickness of the hair is  determined by the weight and length of the extensions.
The more the hair weighs, the more hair there is and therefore the thicker the set (clip ins) is and the more luxurious your hair will be.
A thick and luxurious set should be approximately 160g. For a common length of 20cm the weight should not fall short of 120g. So if you wish to get longer or shorter clip in hair extensions, you can use this weight as a general gauge to determine the thickness.

3. Hair construction

Lastly, in order to get a rough idea on how the set is constructed, you might want to know how many wefts are inside the set, their size, and if the hair is double-wefted or not. The wefts need to be at least 7-10 so that you're able to evenly distribute the hair around your head to attain a more natural look.

Ensure that 1) there are two rows of the sewn hair (weft) stitched together; double-wefted for a fuller look, 2) are correctly 'arranged" larger pieces are for the back of your head and smaller ones for the side region and 3) are made with secure silicon-backed clips for a much comfy fit.

Regarding what brand/ vendor you should purchase from, I'd say its worth your while to contemplate on the quality and usability of the item you're getting.
Just bear in mind the 3 essential tips shared above ,when shopping for clip in extensions and you can be sure to select gorgeous hair that will suit your needs and last you long.

Here's to wishing you a better hair extension shopping!
Until next time.
